Traffic Safety and Security Activities include the prioritization of traffic safety and security goals in Quad Cities metropolitan area and assistance with enforcement activities to reach these goals. Bi-State staff assist with monthly meetings of the Community Awareness of Roadway Safety (CARS) interdisciplinary traffic safety team in Scott County and annually call a bi-state interdisciplinary traffic safety meeting to discuss traffic safety and regional ITS and/or operational issues. Additionally, Bi-State staff has assisted with the development of evacuation plans for its members, public safety communications and other transportation security issues where coordination is an essential component to a safe and secure transportation network.
